Abstract

This study aims to identify the main dimensions that shape the digital competency variables of Generation Z employees using the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) approach. Digital transformation demands an increase in the quality of human resources, where Generation Z is starting to dominate the labor market. Although familiar with technology, their abilities do not necessarily match professional competency standards in the workplace. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 150 Generation Z employee respondents who work in service and industrial sector companies. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS version 26 software. The results showed that the instruments used were valid and reliable. Through factor analysis, four main dimensions were found to shape digital competency, namely: (1) Digital Literacy and Information Management, (2) Digital Communication and Collaboration, (3) Digital Security and Ethics, and (4) Data Processing and Digital Problem Solving. These four dimensions were able to explain 72.90% of the total variance. These findings provide an empirically tested measurement framework for designing targeted competency development programs for Generation Z employees.
