Falsafah Silih Asah, Silih Asih, Silih Asuh Sebagai Kearifan Lokal Sunda Dalam Penguatan Karakter Gen Z di Era Digital

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the lives of Generation Z, both in education, communication, and social interaction. On the one hand, the digital era provides various opportunities to access information and develop creativity, but on the other hand, it also presents challenges in the form of a decline in the quality of social interactions, increased individualistic behavior, the spread of hoaxes, and the phenomenon of cyberbullying. These conditions demonstrate the importance of strengthening character that is not only oriented towards technological progress, but also based on local cultural values. One of the local wisdoms of the Sundanese people that is relevant to addressing these challenges is the philosophy of Silih Asah, Silih Asih, and Silih Asuh. This article aims to analyze the meaning and relevance of these philosophies in strengthening the character of Generation Z in the digital era. The method used is a library study by reviewing various literature on Sundanese local wisdom, character education, and the characteristics of Generation Z. The results of the study indicate that the value of Silih Asah plays a role in building a culture of digital literacy, critical thinking, and a spirit of lifelong learning. The value of Silih Asih encourages the formation of empathy, tolerance, and ethics in communicating in the digital space. Meanwhile, the value of Silih Asuh contributes to fostering awareness, social responsibility, and the importance of mentoring in the use of technology. Therefore, integrating the philosophies of Silih Asah, Silih Asih, and Silih Asuh within families, schools, and communities can be an effective strategy in shaping a Generation Z with character and culture capable of wisely facing the challenges of the digital era.
