ANALISIS KESALAHAN BERBAHASA DALAM PENGGUNAAN HURUF KAPITAL PADA MAKALAH

Abstract

This study analyzes the errors in the use of capital letters in academic papers. The aim of the research is to explore the common mistakes made in applying capital letters according to the Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI) and to identify the underlying causes of these errors. A qualitative approach was employed, using literature study as the primary method. The research findings revealed that the most frequent errors include the misuse of capital letters in the beginning of sentences, names of people and institutions, and titles. Additionally, factors such as lack of familiarity with PUEBI, carelessness in writing, and influence from informal writing habits were identified as the main causes of these errors. These findings emphasize the importance of understanding the proper rules of capital letter usage in academic writing.
