Abstract

The government's policy turning 2013 curriculum to independent curriculum (Merdeka curriculum) making vocational high school student required to be competent. This research aims to: (1) describe the level of eligibility of handout learning media on the elements preparation for making clothes and, (2) analyze the effectiveness of applying handout learning media on the elements preparation for making clothes for phase F at State Vocational High School 1 Jatirejo. The type of research used in this study is quantitative research. Using True Experimental Design research methods, with the form of Posttest-Only Control Design. Research sample using Total Sampling of 71 students. This research uses variable X in the handout of preparation for making clothes and variable Y in student's learning outcomes. The data was collected using questionnaries for media expert and material expert validators and post test for the students to obtain learning outcome scores. The test analysis used descriptive statistical test, normality test, and Mann-Whitney test. This research result indicates that: (1) The eligibility level being validated by media expert and material expert. The validation results by media expert and material expert obtained an average percentage of 82,35% which can be said to be very proper. (2) The effectiveness level of the learning media handout of preparation for making clothes can be formulated from the Mann-Whitney effect size further test which shows that the strength of the difference measure is classified as medium to large with a value (r = 0.491) so that the application of the handout is effective in increasing the value of student learning outcomes.
