Abstract

Moral education is an important aspect in shaping a person's character to behave well and with dignity. The Qur'an, as the source of Islamic teachings, contains moral values that are relevant to be applied in the world of education, one of which is found in Q.S. Ali Imran verse 159, which describes the exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This study aims to analyze the moral education values in Q.S. Ali Imran verse 159 and their relevance to contemporary Islamic religious education. This study uses a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained from the Qur'an and tafsir books as primary sources, as well as books and scientific journals as secondary sources, which were analyzed through content analysis using the tafsir tahlili method. The results of the study indicate that Q.S. Ali Imran verse 159 contains moral education values such as gentleness, forgiveness, deliberation, and trust in God. These values are relevant to be applied in Islamic religious education in order to shape students who have good character, are humanistic, and have moral and spiritual responsibility.
