UPAYA PEMBELAJARAN KITAB AL-ARBA’IN AN-NAWAWIYYAH DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER SISWA SMP PELITA AL-QURAN KRASAK WONOSOBO

Problems related to student behavior such as impoliteness, low awareness of moral values, and the influence of external social environments have emerged at SMP Pelita Al-Qur’an Krasak Wonosobo. The school responded by integrating the book Al-Arba’in An-Nawawiyyah into the learning program to strengthen character education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the learning process, the teacher’s efforts in instilling character values, and the supporting and inhibiting factors involved. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, the teacher responsible for the subject, and students. The findings show that the learning of Al-Arba’in is implemented through the recitation of hadiths, explanation of meanings, teacher modeling, and habituation of moral practices in daily activities. This learning approach contributes to the development of religious, honest, disciplined, polite, and responsible student character. Supporting factors include the pesantren-based school environment, teacher competence, and habituation programs. Inhibiting factors arise from external social influences and limited instructional time. The study concludes that integrating classical Islamic texts into learning can strengthen student character when supported by contextual and consistent pedagogical strategies.
