Abstract

UMKM in Pucanganom hamlet are UMKM that operate in the field of processing coconuts, where these UMKM pick coconuts and then sell them again when they have been peeled from the husk. The process of stripping coconut husks in Pucanganom hamlet UMKM is still done manually using a crowbar. This manual stripping takes a lot of energy and time, the time for manually stripping coconut husks takes 30 seconds to 40 seconds. On this basis, the author created an automatic coconut peeling machine designed using the Quality Function Design method with a capacity of 240 coconuts per day (6 hours). In designing the coconut peeling machine, the total cost is also calculated, after calculating the total cost is Rp. 27,343,224.00, then after getting the total cost value, the next stage is to calculate the Net Present Value, which is 678888107.6, which is the value positive so that this business is worth running. On this basis, we hope that this coconut fiber peeling machine can be the first step for UMKM in entering the era of modernization and so that MSME productivity increases.
