Household organic waste remains a major contributor to municipal solid waste in Indonesian cities, yet it holds significant potential as raw material for organic fertilizer to support urban agriculture. This activity aims to describe the socialization and demonstration of an appropriate composter technology for processing household organic waste as an initial step toward supporting urban farming-based food security. The activity was carried out through waste-sorting socialization for residents, a hands-on composter demonstration at the village head's (Kepala Desa) residence, and the distribution of composters to five households in Kampung Cipacung, Sidamukti Village, using a descriptive qualitative approach based on activity observation and documentation. The results show that participants gained a clearer understanding of organic-inorganic waste sorting and the basic principles of composting, the demonstration at the village head's residence served as a practical reference point for the community, and the distributed composters became an initial, replicable model for household-level organic waste processing. These findings indicate that, even on a limited scale, appropriate composter technology combined with socialization and demonstration is a feasible, low-cost entry point for integrating household waste management with urban farming practices as part of a broader household food security strategy.
